Showing management technology service ShowingTime has inked its biggest deal with a multiple listing service to date, wooing a North Carolina-based MLS away from a competitor.

Carolina Multiple Listing Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, has signed an agreement to offer its more than 8,000 subscribers ShowingTime’s Appointment Center service, which includes access to appointment specialists available at any time of the day, as well as ShowingTime for the MLS, an online scheduling system embedded in the MLS.

CarolinaMLS had previously been a customer of ShowingTime rival Centralized Showing Service Inc.

ShowingTime’s “24/7 service, best-in-class mobile app, two-way text messaging and analytic reports will not only afford our agents a great experience but will help agents provide even better service to buyers and sellers,” said Steve Byrd, CarolinaMLS’s vice president and chief technology officer, in statement.

With ShowingTime’s Appointment Center, listing agents “don’t have to worry about missing any showing requests, while showing agents appreciate how quickly our appointment specialists work to confirm appointments,” said ShowingTime President Michael Lane in a statement.

ShowingTime’s products are integrated with more than 200 MLSs, but this the largest “dollar” account for the company, according to spokesman Tom Denk.

Rockville, Maryland-based Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. (MRIS), which has more than 45,000 members, is ShowingTime’s largest account in terms of members, Denk said. MRIS uses ShowingTime for the MLS, but not ShowingTime’s Appointment Center.

More MLSs are offering their agents the ability to schedule real estate showings online. In September, Florida-based M.L.S. of Naples Inc. became one of 80 MLSs representing more than 450,000 real estate professionals who have integrated ShowingTime for MLS for its 5,000 members.

That same month, Colorado-based Information and Real Estate Services LLC (IRES) announced it would offer its 5,000-plus members an MLS-integrated online showing appointment function from Centralized Showing Service. CSS services more than 155,000 real estate agents in 70 markets nationwide.
