The Aspen Board of Realtors is hoping the City Council will name a Realtor to fill a vacant seat created by a special election. “We feel the City Council would benefit from someone who understands the importance of maintaining an environment that draws tourists and buyers to the Aspen area and who is well versed in issues impacting the health of the real estate industry,” the board said in a letter to the Aspen Times.
The newspaper has previously reported that opponents of development are worried that whoever is appointed will weaken the strong 4-1 slow-growth majority in place in the Colorado resort town before the election. Source: aspentimes.com.
