The rapid growth of North Dakota towns fueled by the oil and gas boom has created many headaches for local police departments, according to Atlantic Cities.

An influx of out-of-state workers has stretched police staff thin, and housing shortages and alcohol consumption are contributing to increased calls for service, Atlantic Cities reports.
