Fannie, Freddie regulator hires insurance lobbyist as adviser

The federal agency that regulates Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac has raised eyebrows by hiring a lawyer and insurance industry lobbyist to advise it on force-placed insurance. Charles Landgraf “played a key early role in coordinating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s actions on force-placed insurance,” anonymous sources told American Banker.
