Al Bennati, former CEO of for-sale-by-owner website BuyOwner.com, has hired Coldwell Banker agent Donna Miller to sell his $3.78 million estate on St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, the Herald-Tribune reported.

“To sell a home of this magnitude, it needs to be done by a person and a company that reaches buyers of this caliber,” Bennati said in a statement.

“I was a spokesperson and co-owner of BuyOwner with my sister for over 20 years in Florida and Georgia. Selling upper-end homes like mine was never the market for BuyOwner.”

Bennati is not the only former FSBO website exec to list his home with a brokerage. In 2011, ForSalebyOwner.com founder Colby Sambrotto ended up using a broker to sell his condo after it languished on the market for six months.
