The Atlantic Cities provides a comprehensive list of ways that the government shutdown will impact people around the country.

Among other things, people won’t be able to visit landmarks, monuments, museums and parks operated by the federal government; they won’t be able to obtain replacement Social Security or Medicare cards; and they may have trouble obtaining passports, gun permits, business loans and some home loans, according to The Atlantic Cities. (Note: Only USDA loans will cease to be processed altogether.)
