Indian property search portal catching on with consumers, investors

A startup founded by a dozen 20-something techies who met at the Indian Institute of Technology have launched a property search site that’s now featuring listings in seven cities — Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Noida and Ghaziabad, catching the eyes of consumers and investors, Business Standard reports.

Housing.co.in features price heat maps and broker profiles next to for-sale and rental listings, attracting 35,000 unique visitors a day. Venture capital fund Nexus Venture Partners put $2.5 million behind the company’s launch, and 17 others are on board for a two-year expansion plan during which the workforce is expected to grow from 30 to 100.
