After the IRS issued him a $411,773 tax refund check for the 2007 tax year — even though he’d paid no income taxes — former house flipper Miles Julison decided to up his game, applying for a $1.5 million refund for 2008 despite, once again, not having paid any taxes that year.
By this time, The Oregonian reports, Julison had already discussed with federal agents what they would later describe as his “tax protestor, sovereign citizen positions.” Julison was convicted of tax fraud Friday and faces sentencing Nov. 20. Source: oregonlive.com.
