A Las Vegas lawyer who was accused of participating in a mortgage fraud scheme involving 144 homes and $53 million in loans has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison and ordered to pay $30 million in restitution.

Gary Zobrist, 43, pleaded guilty in January to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Source: reviewjournal.com.
