Millennials are a tough nut to crack.
But a new report seems to make one thing clear: They really like pets.
In a study that polled well over 1 million people from September 2011 to September 2013, PayScale and Millennial Branding found that pet health insurance is the most “common” perk preferred by millennials.
Also among millennials’ top 10 favorite perks is the ability to bring your pets or dogs to work, which ranks right ahead of profit-sharing programs, Quartz notes.
No pet perks were among the 10 most common ones found by the study for both Generation X and baby boomers.
In addition to apparently closely valuing friendship with animals, millennials also are much more likely to have returned to the nest after flying the coup.
About 28 percent said that financial hardship had forced them to move back into their parents’ home since starting their career.
Only 5 percent of baby boomers and 11 percent of Gen Xers said they have had to do the same.
