With the Greater Montreal Real Estate Board separating from the Canadian Real Estate Association in a huff over flat-fee listings, listings represented by the Montreal board’s 9,700 members will no longer appear on Realtor.ca as of Jan. 1.

That’s got some sellers anxious about whether their homes — which are going on the market at a time when inventories are at record highs — will get the same kind of exposure on Centris.ca, a Quebec-based site that’s virtually unknown outside the province, The Montreal Gazette’s Allison Lampert reports.

The vote by Montreal brokers to separate from CREA was a close one, and those who want to appease sellers can join one of eight real estate boards in Quebec that still belong to CREA. Source: montrealgazette.com
