A real estate broker who allegedly falsified court documents in an attempt to scare two tenants into paying their rent has been hit with a licensing complaint. Gregory Blatz, owner of Wabash, Ind.-based Blatz’s Realty and B&G Real Estate Consultants LLC, is accused of forging “notice of claim” documents that threatened the tenants with a court hearing and possible eviction.
Blatz ended up in hot water when the tenants showed up in Grant County Superior Court to ask which courtroom their hearing was in. A judge filed a complaint against Blatz with the attorney general’s office, which called Blatz’s actions “outrageous” and a “clear violation of the professional standards of practice.” The Indiana Real Estate Commission will decide what, if any, disciplinary action to take.
