Opponents of affordable housing in Marin County, Calif. — one of the wealthiest in the nation — are raising such a stink about the potential impacts on home prices of developments the county is considering on 17 sites that Realtors are adding the topic to their 15-page list of disclosures and disclaimers.

One broker who beat the┬áMarin Association of Realtors to the punch in adding the topic to his own disclosures said he wasn’t trying to make a political statement, but protect himself from legal liability. “If enough people say they think it affects real estate values, then I guess it does because the value of real estate is all about someone’s opinion,” Robert Bradley, CEO of Bradley Real Estate, told the Marin Independent Journal.
