Opponents of affordable housing in Marin County, Calif. — one of the wealthiest in the nation — are raising such a stink about the potential impacts on home prices of developments the county is considering on 17 sites that Realtors are adding the topic to their 15-page list of disclosures and disclaimers.

One broker who beat the Marin Association of Realtors to the punch in adding the topic to his own disclosures said he wasn’t trying to make a political statement, but protect himself from legal liability. “If enough people say they think it affects real estate values, then I guess it does because the value of real estate is all about someone’s opinion,” Robert Bradley, CEO of Bradley Real Estate, told the Marin Independent Journal.
