Landrieuforsale.com — a website that offers visitors information on “great deals from Sen. Mary Landrieu’s Realtor husband” — is part of a Republican-funded media campaign to unseat the Louisiana Democrat in 2014, the Huffington Post reports.
Landrieu’s husband, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associate Frank Snellings, first landed in the news last week when the Washington Examiner reported that he stands to make about $50,000 in commissions as the listing agent for a home owned by “super-lobbyist” Tony Podesta.
That led HuffPo to dig up a more extensive list of Snelling’s past clients, which includes other prominent lobbyists and contributors to Landrieu’s past campaigns.
Landrieu’s staff has pointed out to The Hill that the Senate Ethics Committee has ruled that it’s “completely permissible and appropriate” for Snellings “to be a real estate agent for anyone.” Source: huffingtonpost.com.
