Residential construction spending up 18 percent from last year

While spending on residential construction in April remained virtually flat, slipping a seasonally adjusted 0.1 percent from the revised March estimate of $302.2 billion, on an annual basis spending was up 18.3 percent, according to the U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce.
