Tucson, Ariz.-based real estate agent and developer Walter Scott Fruit, 54, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and ordered to pay more than $2.5 million in restitution after pleading guilty to his role in a mortgage fraud scheme during the housing boom that involved the sales of several properties to straw buyers at inflated sales prices.
