A veteran Realtor with more than two decades of experience in Colorado resort communities has died in a surfing accident near Salina Cruz, Mexico.

Prudential Colorado Properties broker associate Doug Ketchum, 60, died May 29, at about the same time Hurricane Barbara made landfall on Mexico’s Pacific coast, the Aspen Times reports.

According to a website memorializing his life, during his long career as a Realtor, Ketchum served as vice president of the Colorado Association of Realtors (CAR) and president of the Vail Board of Realtors.

After relocating to Salida, Colo., five years ago, he served as the president of the Chaffee County Board of Realtors, while maintaining his affiliation with Prudential in Vail. In addition to surfing, he was an avid skier, snowboarder and cyclist.  Source: aspentimes.com.
