Who knew? The state of Virginia has a “Secretary of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security.”
Her name is Terrie Suit, and in 2011 she was the first person named to the post after its creation. Now Suit, who launched a career in real estate back in 1985 (she was a Realtor before moving into mortgage lending, a field she worked in for two decades), has been named the new CEO of the Virginia Association of Realtors.
Suit’s got a deep background in state politics as well. After nearly nine years in the Virginia Assembly, she was named chairwoman of Gov. Bob McDonnell’s foreclosure task force. Source: varbuzz.com.
