Realtor launches online 'reality show'
Gary Keller book inspires $1 million goal
By Inman News, Tuesday, June 30, 2009.Fedua "Sarah" Bandy, a Realtor in Colts Neck, N.J., has launched an online video series to promote her goal of $1 million in net revenue from sales commissions in one year.
Borrowing ideas from the pages of "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent," a book by Keller Williams founder Gary Keller, Bandy plans to send out 16,000 direct-mail pieces per month to a list of people selected from a particular geography and demography.
According to Keller's research, marketing to 50 people 12 times per year will result in at least one sale. Her Web site names a few sponsors for her mission, including HomeGain, a lead-generation company, and Real Estate Tomato, a technology and consulting company.
The video series can be viewed at Bandy's Web site and will also be displayed and promoted on social media sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

I haven't seen the show and I don't know who Sarah Bandy is, but this article certainly leaves you with an impression. You make a TV show based around your desire to make a million dollars? Your perpetuating the stereo type that most of us have to work very hard to overcome. Its hard because of shows like this, its not good TV watching somebody just do their job. The first thing I tell a new agent is that the moment you think about money in this business your dead. Your focus should be on whats best for your client, not how much your going to make. When you conduct yourself in this manner, you'll make enough and you'll sleep a lot better. I hope the article has not been conveyed fairly. If it has, Sarah Bandy You may make a million dollars, you better save it. As we've seen in the past year with many other industries, the market place will no longer tolerate companies and people who do not deliver what they need. I don't know anyone who needs to pay for advisement from an adviser whose goal is to make a million dollars for themselves. You have a fiduciary responsibility, yet you state a goal that has nothing to do with a clients needs. What do you do when their needs conflict with your goal? Encouraging this perception is encouraging other business models to use this as justification for the inferior service they will attempt to provide. Given that you clearly establish your priorities in the tag line of your show, I don't expect you care very much about the industry you are so willing to take from.

Wow Chris, those are some pretty harsh words for someone that openly admits they don't know Sarah, have never seen the show, and is confusing an on-line video series with a television reality show.
I do know Sarah Bandy, and I can assure you she will deliver what her client needs, place her fiduciary responsibility first, and she does care very much about the industry.

I am not a fan of reality shows but i give Sarah a lot of credit for working towards making her dream come true. I do agree with some of Chris's comments but you have to give credit to Sarahs hard work.
I am confused why she is using ideas from Gary Keller book (Keller Williams Realty)yet works for another realestate company??? In any event WAY TO GO SARAH ..best of luck !
