It depends. In urban areas (where most rapid transit is located), property values tend to rise in neighborhoods when rapid transit becomes available and cuts the commute time for residents. On the other hand, if the transit line runs right through your backyard, your individual property value may suffer due to the noise factor. Talk to other owners in the area if it concerns you and research exactly where any new rapid transit is scheduled to be sited.
