Reed Elsevier, a publisher of business and science information, has signed an early long-term lease renewal and expansion that will keep its Reed Exhibitions division headquartered at W&M Properties’ MerrittView office center in Norwalk, Conn., at least through November 2019.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Reed Exhibitions, which produces and manages trade shows and conferences, will renew its occupancy of 96,727 square feet. Reed has been at MerrittView since late 1994, initially leasing 62,000 square feet, and subsequently expanding to 90,000 square feet for extended lease terms that had been scheduled to expire between December 2007 and January 2010.

Built in 1985, MerrittView is an eight-story, 255,000-square-foot, class A office building located at the intersection of Route 7 and the Merritt Parkway. Building-wide enhancements that have been made include redecorated common-area corridors, upgraded restrooms and refinished elevator cabs.

W&M’s portfolio of suburban office buildings totals 1.85 million square feet of prime space in Westchester County and Fairfield County.
