Home buyers in Texas and California can now complete their entire mortgage application process in Spanish at 16 HSBC Credit Center Inc. branch offices, the company announced today.

HSBC Credit Center offers traditional first mortgage fixed-rate and adjustable-rate loans, and 40-year mortgage options. Its bilingual branch offices in Texas are located in Pasadena, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth and El Paso. In California, bilingual services are offered in San Fernando, North Hills, Chula Vista, El Monte, Riverside, Huntington Park, Bell Gardens and Santa Ana.

Martin Castro, president and CEO of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation, commended HSBC in a press release issued by the company.

“This has been long overdue and I’m delighted HSBC has chosen to be proactive in delivering this important service,” Castro said.

HSBC Credit Center branches also offer money transfer services that allow customers in California to send up to $2,500 to family and friends in Mexico for as little as $3 per transfer. Funds can be picked up at HSBC Mexico offices in U.S. dollars or in Mexican pesos, and the service is available to all, regardless of whether they are HSBC account holders.
