An ad campaign launched last fall by franchisor Century 21 Real Estate LLC inside the Facebook game SimCity Social has been recognized as a “Platinum Winner” in the AVA Awards contest, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
For two weeks last fall, Century 21 branding appeared in SimCity Social via branded buildings and other user interactions with the company that generated credits for players.
“The decision to place virtual offices in one of the most popular Facebook games enabled our brand to reach an increasingly influential and relevant audience — gamers,” said Bev Thorne, chief marketing officer of Century 21, in a statement.
The AVA Awards recognize excellence in audio-visual arts including interactive text, graphics, animation, video, and audio. About 14 percent of the 2,000 entries were recognized as “Platinum” winners, Century 21 said. The franchisor won in the “Digital Marketing/Social Campaign” category.
