A Beaverton, Oregon, real estate agent who contacted police after receiving a creepy text message demanding pictures of her feet appears to be just one victim of a foot fetishist who’s targeted agents in other states, KPTV Fox 12 reports.

“This is not a joke,” read the message sent to Donna Ellison. “I want three close up pics of your bare feet sent to me now. Also indicate your shoe size. I know exactly from where you come and go, so should you fail to fulfill this request you’re going to need 24 hour protection — forever.”

Ellison was not intimidated by the threat, bringing it to the attention of police, who are investigating.

Agents in other states have reported in online forums that they’ve received similar threats, KPTV reports.

The kidnapping and slaying of Arkansas Realtor Beverly Carter last fall heightened concerns about agent safety, with real estate industry leaders debating whether stricter, mandatory procedures are needed to ensure that agents aren’t put in dangerous situations.
