After more than ten years with Douglas Elliman, Tinka Ellington and The Tinka Ellington Group have made the move to Compass, the brokerage has confirmed to Inman.

The team brings experience in marketing, finance, design, development and new construction.

“We are excited to welcome The Tinka Ellington Group to Compass’ top-tier team and further strengthen our presence in Florida’s luxury real estate market,” Jeff Polashuk, regional vice president at Compass, said in a statement.
The group includes seven agents with 25 collective years of experience in the industry and a sales volume totaling over $254 million. The team has received national recognition among the top 1.5 percent of real estate teams and earned a Top National RealTrends Award.
Ellington shared the news of the move via Facebook, describing it as a step toward broader opportunities and access. “Our move to Compass brings exciting new opportunities for our clients and team, including: Compass One, Compass Private Exclusive, Compass No. 1 Nationwide, Compass Concierge and Compass Global network,” she wrote.

In her statement, Ellington said, “We chose Compass for its forward-thinking, innovative approach to real estate. As a leader in industry evolution, Compass shapes change rather than reacting to it — something we want to be part of, not left behind by.”
Ellington started her first business, a venture capital-funded business that was later acquired by a multinational company, at the age of 18. She went on to lead an international marketing and consulting firm before transitioning into real estate.
Now, Ellington has over 24 years of experience in the industry, all spent in Southeast Florida, where she’s built deep local expertise. Compass pointed to her communication and negotiation skills, along with her client-first mindset, as reasons for teaming up.
“[Ellington’s] proven leadership, innovative marketing and dedication to client excellence align perfectly with our mission, and we look forward to supporting her continued success and empowering her team with the tools and technology that define Compass as an industry leader,” Polashuk added.
In addition to joining Compass, The Tinka Ellington Group also recently announced an expansion into North Carolina through a partnership with the Panashe Group.
