Artist pokes fun at agents, Photoshops himself into their bus bench ads

Saying he has “a deep respect for anyone who’s willing to put their face on a bus stop bench” knowing that they will probably be defaced, artist Phil Jones has been doing just that — recreating agents’ bus bench ads by inserting images of himself in place of the agent.

Jones tells BuzzFeed that his versions of the ads don’t stay up for long — usually someone takes them down, or peels them off to see what’s underneath.

One of Jones’ “victims” was Minneapolis-based agent Graham Smith, who had invited people to deface his bus bench ads, before being informed by Inman News that United States Bench Corporation said that it would drop any advertiser who encouraged people to modify their ads with graffiti.
