A Minnesota Realtor says he made a mistake when he used a replica of a county government logo in a marketing mailer. The mailer attempted to drum up business by declaring a “2013 Property Value Alert” and inviting homeowners to call him to find out what their home was worth. In November, federal regulators warned real estate agents, homebuilders and lead generators, that their advertising on websites, Facebook and in newspapers and direct mailers may be deceptive, citing practices that included ads containing statements, images, symbols and abbreviations suggesting that an advertiser is affiliated with a government agency.
