Real estate crowdfunder Realty Mogul and and next-gen broker Urban Compass were named two of the “18 best startups” of 2013 by Business Insider.
One of the leaders in real estate crowdfunding, Realty Mogul has raised about $8 million for 23 deals since its founding in 2012, founder Jilliene Helman recently told Inman News. The company has paid about $500,000 to its investors, Business Insider reports.
New York City-based Urban Compass is a rental and for-sale broker that follows in the vein of Redfin by providing technology to agents and consumers that it says improves the home search process. Like Redfin and NYC competitor Suitey, Urban Compass also pays its agents salaries and bonuses based on customer satisfaction.
The firm, which expanded into home sales in October, has already raised $33 million and was valued at $150 million in its last funding round.
