Catch it on camera at Real Estate Connect
Inman News columnist to lead Aug. 5 photo walk
By Inman News, Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
Flickr photo by John Kratz.Inman News columnist and avid photographer Teresa Boardman will lead a photo walk at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in San Francisco for attendees of the Inman News Real Estate Connect conference, which runs from Aug. 5-7.
The photo walk is "a chance for people to grab their cameras, see some sites in beautiful San Francisco, go for a walk, and grab a bite to eat," says Boardman, who has a collection of her photos online at Flickr.com, a photo-sharing site.
To join the photo walk, meet in the lobby at the Palace Hotel, the site of the Real Estate Connect conference, at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Participants will walk to San Francisco's Chinatown, taking pictures along the way.
At 6:30 p.m. photo walk participants will stop for refreshments and share their photos at The House of Nanking restaurant (919 Kearny St.).
Boardman says any photo-taking device will do, whether it's your "phone, a disposable camera, any point-and-shoot or your $5,000 DSLR -- it makes no difference." She also recommends wearing a comfortable pair of shoes.
"The idea is to see the sites, have a good time, have photos to share with friends or to put on Flickr, and maybe pick up a photography tip or two. I don’t want anyone to think this is only for photographers -- it really isn’t. It is social," she added.
All Real Estate Connect attendees -- are invited to post their photo walk photos and conference-related photos to the "Inman Real Estate Connect" Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/inmanconnect/.
Also, photos with the hashtag "#icsf" will appear at a social media mashup page for the event, at: http://inman.socialapproach.com/ (see related article).
