Where’d the idea for the video come from?

The idea of the video came from the company that I hired to make the video. I knew I had to create something special for this property because it’s an amazing home in an incredible hillside location with many one-of-a-kind features.

How did you market the video?

I have it front and center on the custom website I created for this property, as well as on all my social media accounts.

Do you film listing videos for all your firm’s listings? If not, how do you decide which gets the video?

Yes, for the most part, I choose to have listing videos created for all my listings. I’ve been producing them for a few years now and enjoy the process, especially trying to remember my lines during the shoot.

How many views did this video get?

It’s received over 15,000 on Facebook (with advertising) and almost 900 views on YouTube.

Any feedback from the sellers or prospective buyers on it?

Sellers really love the video and the concept behind creating a quick and catchy commercial for their property, and so far, there have been a few prospective buyers who came by the property during an open house only because the video got their attention.

Others in the industry also tell me that they enjoy watching it and get a laugh from the ending, especially since the videographer added me in the video at the end.

How much did it cost?

Quite a bit to produce. Feel free to contact the production company that created the video to get an idea of cost.

Did the seller pay for it or did it come out of your marketing budget?

It came out of my own marketing budget. Because I’ve created many listing videos in the past, and they always seem to pay off in one way or another, I was comfortable with the investment

What’s your threshold for doing a custom listing video? Price, noteworthiness, etc.

Depends on the property; it’s location, possible price range, exclusivity, etc. And some properties just have a unique story that’s fun to tell.

Who filmed/produced it? How long did it take?

RockBridge Productions out of San Francisco. It took us a few weeks to put it all together, but that’s also partly because I had them make several other videos for the property and community at the same time.

Did you craft the layout of the video or did the videographer?

The creative aspects were left solely up to the production company and videographer.

How does this video compare to the others you’ve done?

This video is definitely the highest-quality I’ve had produced yet.

How many listing videos have you done or commissioned?

I believe upward of 25 over the past few years. You can find them all on my YouTube channel.

Any fun stories from the shoot?

I just couldn’t believe how big of a production it was to put together such a short video.

Any tips to doing a great listing video?

Have fun with it, and hire someone with some experience to help you get things rolling.

Why’d you hire the videographer?

I always choose to hire a videographer because I don’t think I have the necessary skills or time to produce similar-quality videos.
