True or false: The best things in life are free? Not necessarily true, one real estate company alleges. CoreLogic, the global property information, analytics and data-enabled services provider, noted that the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR’s) offer to provide the trade group’s members with free zipLogix transaction management software might not be the best deal for agents and brokers.

  • CoreLogic believes it can offer a better, more cost effective transaction management system with Instanet Solutions to agents than NAR's offer through zipLogix.

  • With the cost of the mobile and e-signature solution for zipLogix, CoreLogic and Instanet's package will cost less, argues CoreLogic.

CoreLogic has just signed an agreement to become the exclusive provider of Instanet Solutions to clients of its market-leading real estate platforms, including Matrix, Realist and AgentAchieve. Instanet is a provider of solutions that help streamline and automate real estate transactions.

Jon Green, CoreLogic Vice President of Business Development, said: “CoreLogic is probably offering a better-priced transaction management solution than the free deal that NAR and zipLogix announced at last week’s NAR.

“Specifically, it appears that with the cost of $59 a year for the mobile and e-signature solution — on top of the free basic package being offered by NAR through zipLogix — that the cost will be less with CoreLogic and Instanet,” said Green.

CoreLogic’s Realist product, a purpose-built solution that integrates with MLS systems to provide public record, MLS and other data, competes directly with NAR’s Realtors Property Resource (RPR), which is free to members.

“Realist is not free, yet the number of MLS’s utilizing the system has grown considerably since RPR has been around,” he said.

“Free does not mean the most-adopted or the most-used,” he added.

CoreLogic is hoping to attract more real estate agents to its business with the Instanet Solutions deal and keep existing ones happy.

“The workflow of the agent — from the moment an agent obtains a new listing, prepares the listing agreement and all the other forms that the seller is going to sign, then ultimately submitting the new listing to the MLS, all can be done working with Instanet. This is a much more efficient process,” said Green.

“Instanet Solutions services have more capabilities and functionality than DocuSign and other similar systems,” said Martin Scrocchi, CEO of Instanet Solutions. who added the company has been around for 25 years and has 500,000 clients.

As well as offering the entire Instanet Solutions suite to its clients, CoreLogic will provide InstanetOffers, a new marketing solution for agents and brokers, to its multiple listing platform clients at no cost.

Agents will be able to send out coupon offers to their clients under their brand which will be relevant for consumers buying and selling homes. The offers will come from companies like Lowe’s, Sears, Papa John’s Pizza and moving companies.

Instanet will be introducing two new products over the next six months, he said.
