@properties REMI Christie’s International Real Estate has expanded its footprint in the state of Michigan to Traverse City, the firm announced on Wednesday.
The firm has two offices in Detroit and several others located throughout Northern and Southeast Michigan. The new office will provide a crucial connection to the state’s popular lakeside market.

Top Traverse City agent Molly Buttleman, a recent transplant from Coldwell Banker, will work out of the new office alongside top producer Lydia Wiley and six other agents. Wiley is repping new luxury developments Penthouses at 111 State and 100 Park, which recently launched sales.
The firm’s new office will open in July at 129 S. Union Street, and will be overseen by broker Ken Kleinrichert.
@properties REMI Christie’s International Real Estate was founded in 2021 by co-CEOs Eric Walstrom and Alex Irrer.
“While Traverse City has grown into a premier destination for upscale buyers from around the country, we are really the first company in the market with a focus on this clientele,” Walstrom said in a statement. “Our award-winning pl@tform technology, top-tier marketing, and national and international visibility through the Christie’s International Real Estate network will raise the bar on the traditional experience for Traverse City clients and agents.”
Walstrom and Irrer believe the office will hit $200 million in sales by the end of 2025, thanks to growing interest in Traverse City as a resort destination, as well as to Buttleman’s sales power. Buttleman is a $60 million producer and has been one of the market’s top agents for the last 15 years.

“@properties REMI Christie’s International Real Estate brings a fresh approach to real estate that elevates the buying and selling experience at every price point,” Buttleman said in a statement. “Their cutting-edge tech, industry-leading marketing and forward-thinking culture will enable me to serve my clients at an even higher level.”
Traverse City was named to The Wall Street Journal’s 10 Best Places to Go in 2025 and CNN’s Best Places to Visit in 2024. The city’s growing attraction has led to a planned Cherry Capital Airport terminal expansion of about 68,000 square feet to accommodate more visitors to the region.
The median sale price in Traverse City is up 2.2 percent year over year to $458,775, according to Redfin. However, waterfront homes can command up to $10 million, @properties REMI Christie’s International Real Estate said.
