Google has handed every agent free data on which searches surface their Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube content. Here’s how to claim it, read it and use it without getting yourself flagged.

For years, you’ve been posting to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube on faith. You could see likes and views inside each app, but you had no way of knowing whether any of that content ever showed up when someone searched Google for an agent, a neighborhood or a market question.

That blind spot closed on July 29, and most agents have no idea.

What just happened

Google rolled out a Search Console feature called Platform Properties, first introduced on July 7 and made globally available on July 29. It lets you connect your Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts directly to Search Console and see how your posts and videos perform in Google Search, Discover and Google News.

You get the same reports website owners have relied on for years: which search queries surfaced your content, how many people saw it, how many clicked.

Two details make this a big deal for agents specifically.

First, you don’t need a website. Google dropped its own long-standing requirement that reporting starts with a verified site. If your entire digital presence is an Instagram account and a YouTube channel, you can still claim this data.

For the huge share of agents whose brokerage controls their website, this is the first search performance data they’ve ever been able to see for content they personally own.

Second, this is the measurement layer for everything the industry has been telling you to do. You’ve heard all year that social content feeds AI answers and search results. FlyDragon’s 2026 State of AI SEO in Real Estate report found 91 percent of agents don’t appear at all when buyers ask AI tools about the best agents or neighborhoods in their market.

Until now, you couldn’t measure whether your posting was moving that needle. Now you can see the search side of your social effort in black and white.

Set it up this week. It takes about 15 minutes.

The setup is genuinely simple, and the data takes a few days to start populating, so do this part now.

  1. Go to Google Search Console, and sign in with the Google account you want to own the data. If you’ve never used Search Console, it’s free.
  2. Open the property selector and click Add property.
  3. Choose the platform you want to connect: Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube.
  4. Authorize the connection when prompted. Use the login that actually manages that profile or channel, not an assistant’s personal account.
  5. Repeat for each account you have. Every profile becomes its own property, so if you run an Instagram, a YouTube channel and a TikTok, that’s three properties.

Then wait. Google says it takes a few days for data to appear, and the default reports show a 28-day window. Connect everything today, and you’ll have a real picture by mid-August.

One caveat so you read the numbers correctly: This shows how your content performs in Google’s ecosystem only. It doesn’t replace Instagram Insights or YouTube Studio, and it won’t show you likes, shares or in-app reach. Different tool; different job.

What to actually look at once the data flows

Google published a companion guide on July 29 laying out how to analyze this data. Translated into agent terms, here’s where the money is.

The query report is the whole ballgame

This shows you the actual words people typed into Google before your content appeared. Not what you hoped you were known for. What you’re actually known for. If your Naples listing videos are surfacing for “waterfront condos Naples FL” but your neighborhood guides show up for nothing, you just learned where to spend your next 90 days.

Find the old content that’s waking up

Google specifically recommends looking for older videos and posts regaining search traction. A market update from February that’s suddenly getting impressions again is a signal. Pin it to your profile, or better, film the Part 2.

Compare platforms side by side

Export the data from each property into one spreadsheet and see which platform actually earns you search visibility. A lot of agents are about to discover their YouTube channel out-earns their Instagram in search by a mile, even with a fraction of the followers. That should change where your effort goes.

Test your titles and captions like a marketer

Search Console has an annotations feature that lets you mark the date you changed something, like rewriting a YouTube title or a TikTok caption, and then watch whether search performance moves afterward. This is the first time agents can run real before-and-after tests on social content in Google Search.

Turn the data into business

Data is only useful if it changes what you do Monday morning. Three moves:

1. Double down on the queries you’re already winning

If Google is surfacing your content for “moving to Boise what to know,” you have proof of demand. Build a dedicated video, a blog post and a Google Business Profile post around that exact question. You’re not guessing anymore.

2. Rewrite your captions in buyer language

The query report shows you how real people phrase things. They don’t search “luxury lifestyle content.” They search “is Windermere a good place to raise kids.” Put those exact phrases in your captions, your video titles and the first line you speak on camera.

3. Feed the winners into the rest of your marketing

Your top search queries should shape your next email newsletter topic, your next open house talking points and your next piece of website content. This report is essentially free market research on what your audience wants from you.

Now the warning: Do not try to game this

The same summer Google gave us this data, it also sharpened its enforcement teeth. On May 15, Google rewrote its spam policy to explicitly cover AI Overviews and AI Mode, making manipulation of AI-generated answers an official spam violation. The June 2026 spam update was the first to run under that expanded policy, and it rolled out in about two days. The March 2026 update finished in under 20 hours, the fastest on record.

Translation: Google is watching this space closely and punishing fast. The vendors pitching you tricks to force your name into AI answers are selling you penalty risk.

The good news is that the legitimate playbook is the same one that has always worked, and now you can finally measure it.

  • Answer the real questions buyers and sellers in your market are asking.
  • Keep your name, brokerage and contact info consistent everywhere.
  • Earn real reviews.
  • Publish content with your actual expertise in it.

The agents who win the next 12 months of search won’t be the ones with a secret hack. They’ll be the ones who claimed their data in August, read it honestly, and let it tell them what to make next.

You’ve been marketing in the dark for years. Google just turned the lights on. Go look.
