Charlotte, NC-based Canopy MLS has inked a software partnership that will encourage members to increase their work in the rental market, Inman learned in a Jan. 31 statement.

Popular rental listing syndication platform Rental Beast will provide Canopy members access to its browser-based Apply Now application and tenant screening process, according to the release. Additionally, the MLS will drive applicants to OneHome by CoreLogic, another Canopy partner used for client collaboration.

The combination of tools creates a vertical workflow for agents who seek relationships with renters as future buying prospects and as a small and less time-consuming source of revenue.

It is the MLS’s hope that Rental Beast’s presence in the Canopy ecosystem will provide a host of efficiencies, namely a more consumer-friendly and modern application experience, starting with access through an agent’s OneHome interface to limit the number of front-end systems an applicant needs to access.

“Canopy MLS subscribers get listing-specific Quick Apply Links, making it simple to share applications via email, text, or social media,” the release stated. “This streamlines the leasing process and attracts more qualified leads.”

Naturally, Rental Beast’s broad online reach will boost listing exposure for both the property and the agent marketing it.

Canopy leadership said in a statement that its latest partnership is another show of its commitment to implementing modern, consumer-first ways for agents to succeed.

“Canopy MLS is committed to delivering technology solutions that empower our subscribers to thrive in all aspects of real estate, including rentals,” said Anne Marie DeCatsye, Esq., CEO of Canopy Realtor Association/Canopy MLS, in the release. “By integrating Rental Beast’s Apply Now with CoreLogic’s OneHome, we’re providing agents with the tools to streamline transactions, serve clients more effectively, and maximize rental opportunities.”

Rental Beast has made a number of inroads into the sales market in the last few years, such as allowing members of the California Association of Realtors to have access to its software, among others. Its most recent partnership deal was with Realtor.com, Inman reported in November.

Rental Beast is a comprehensive rental property solution, providing anyone involved with leasing residential space with an efficient, modern system for working with consumers. It handles tenant screening, operations streamlining, apartment search and matching, unit marketing, agent training and a multitude of other critical work needs. The company also has an MLS-specific iteration of its software.

This is Canopy’s second technology announcement in about a week. On Jan. 28 it released an AI support tool called Ardi, which, according to the organization, will “provide subscribers with quick and easy access to critical information anytime, anywhere.”

The AI assistant will learn as it goes, Canopy said, meaning it will become ever more proficient in what it can answer and predict what else is needed for each subsequent support request.

“This integration marks a significant milestone in our mission to simplify rentals for MLSs and their members,” said Ishay Grinberg, CEO and founder of Rental Beast, in the statement. “By collaborating with CoreLogic and launching with Canopy MLS, we’re empowering real estate professionals with seamless access to critical rental tools — enhancing efficiency, expanding opportunities, and strengthening the value MLSs provide to their subscribers.”
