Compaire, a California-based startup, launched on Monday what it’s calling real estate’s first “career intelligence” platform, a private marketplace where real estate agents can evaluate brokerages and teams before making a move, without tipping off recruiters that they’re looking.
The company opened early access to a Founding Cohort capped at 500 agents and 50 organizations across select pilot markets. Compaire built the platform with input from real estate teams and brokerages, betting that a data-driven marketplace can pull recruiting away from its word-of-mouth roots as agent churn accelerates.
Real estate agents are changing brokerages at a notable pace, according to data from Recruiting Insight, signaling shifting priorities in the industry.
Agents switching brokerages jumped 25 percent in the first quarter of 2026, driven largely by top producers chasing capped revenue-share models and better commission splits, according to the report. That group was 35 percent more likely to switch brands in the first quarter of 2026 than agents overall.
Compaire argues that all that movement still largely runs on guesswork. Agents pick where to hang their license based on a recruiter’s pitch, not hard data. And brokerages, for their part, have little visibility into why the talent they lose actually left.
Compaire’s platform works both sides of that gap. Agents get a private space to research options without alerting recruiters, while teams and brokerages get analytics on how they’re positioned against competitors in the market.
The platform gives agents a private feed to compare organizations on economics, lead flow and culture, plus what it calls AI Fit Scores meant to match agents to firms based on stated goals.
Founder and CEO Jesse Garcia has two decades in the industry, including time as a team leader at Maverick Real Estate and a growth role at PLACE. He previously co-founded Zipi, a back-office financial platform that SkySlope acquired.
“Real estate runs on relationships, but career decisions still happen in the dark,” Garcia said in a statement. “Agents frequently choose where to build businesses with less data than they’d gather for a single listing. Compaire empowers agents to make data-driven decisions that maximize financial outcomes, while giving brokerages a clear read on what genuinely drives retention in their market.”
Compaire’s Founding Cohort offers users first access to the platform to shape future rollouts. Real estate professionals can request access at compaire.co.
Recruiting has always been real estate’s most analog function. Compaire is betting agents are ready to shop brokerages the way they’d shop anything else.
