E.J. Footer writes: Recently, the managing broker at my employing agency made the decision not to join the local Realtor association board. When this happened, my Realtor status changed from member to non-member quicker than you can recite the date of your next closing.
Marianne Bornhoft writes: If you had asked me a little over 10 years ago what benefit I see in membership to the National Association of Realtors, I would have vaguely responded by saying something about strength in numbers.
When you tell a newbie they don’t have to join a board or pay the National Association of Realtors dues, their next breath almost always includes the plea: “But I need access to the MLS!”
