In June, HGTV teamed up with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and Luxury Portfolio International for its 2017 Ultimate House Hunt. The month-long showcase and contest featured the world’s most beautiful homes across eight categories, such as “Modern Masterpieces” and “International Homes.”

“Each year we look forward to joining with HGTV and working with them to source the world’s best listings from our members to share,” said Luxury Portfolio International President Paul Boomsma at the beginning of the contest.

“With two new categories this year, we are excited to discover which of our members’ desirable properties will capture the hearts and minds of the HGTV audience.”

Best ‘Waterfront’ property

This year’s overall winner and winner for “Best Waterfront Property” is the Mandala Villa, an $11.5 million estate surrounded by more than two acres of beach in the gorgeous Turks and Caicos. The 13,274 square-foot home blends traditional Bermudian and Caribbean style and has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and four private pools. The previous owners frequently rented the space and charged a cool $50,000 for a week in paradise.

Best ‘International’ property

The “International” winner is a 1948 Mediterranean-style home overlooking Switzerland’s Lake Lugano. The four bedroom, five bathroom estate has a private wine cellar, terraces, porticoes and a gourmet kitchen perfect for making five-star meals. Want to find out the price for this exclusive home?
