The largest RE/MAX franchise in the country has a new leader with a long history at the company: RE/MAX Results just promoted Brenda Tushaus to chief executive officer.

The promotion puts Tushaus, who previously served as the Minnesota-based franchise’s chief operating officer (COO), at the helm of RE/MAX Results. As part of the role, she will oversee initiatives aimed at increasing revenue and overall company growth.

Tushaus is a veteran of both real estate and RE/MAX Results — she joined the franchise 16 years ago and has previously served as its IT manager, director of operations and director of recruiting.

“All of these roles have allowed me to develop personal relationships with our customers — the sales executives — and not a lot of CEOs can say that,” said Tushaus in a prepared statement. “Having my feet in the street for so many years has really helped me get to know our customer. I know what they want, what they need to succeed, and I think I’m well suited for this role.”

As of today, RE/MAX Results has over 40 offices across Minnesota and Wisconsin and more than 1,100 sales executives. The franchise has regularly been recognized for the way it empowered agents to use technology  — in 2017, Inman News interviewed Tushaus about tech and a new website that the franchise built for its agents from scratch.

But over the last few months, RE/MAX Results has gone through several changes: in February, its previous CEO Lynn Foulke left the company and was not replaced. May, the leader of its top agent team, Kris Lindahl, left to launch his own brokerage.

“I am honored to have Brenda assume this position and have complete trust in her knowledge and abilities to advance Results’ strategic objectives in the real estate marketplace.” said broker/owner John Collopy, who will remain active in his role at RE/MAX Results, in a statement.
