York Baur has joined the advisory board of real estate technology consulting group Maverix Advisory Group, Inman has learned.
Baur was most recently the CEO of MoxiWorks, a company that provides business software to real estate brokerages. He is the first and founding member of Maverix’s board and is recognized as a notable industry figure for his time at MoxiWorks, which grew to support more has 800 brokerages under his leadership. He has been a frequent speaker at conferences and events, including Inman Connect.
Eric Elfman replaced Baur in June last year, Inman reported.
Maverix was launched by Jeff Kennedy, a longtime industry player who most recently served as vice president of sales and partnerships for Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (LeadingRE). His new firm’s intent is to guide executives and real estate entrepreneurs on go-to-market strategies, product direction and relationship building, among other advisory services.
“We’re thrilled and honored to welcome York to the Maverix Advisory Board,” said Jeff Kennedy, managing partner at Maverix Advisory Group. “His deep experience and understanding of both the technology and the human side of the real estate business make him an invaluable partner as we enter our next phase of growth. York’s involvement signals our commitment to delivering forward-thinking solutions to the most complex challenges our clients face.”
Kennedy was joined by Kevin Van Eck in February, who stepped away from his leadership role at @properties Christie’s International Real Estate after its acquisition by Compass in December of 2024.
“I’ve long admired what Maverix is building and the way Jeff and his team partner with founders and brokerages to drive meaningful progress,” Baur said in a statement. “Joining the Advisory Board is a natural fit for me, and I’m excited to contribute to the momentum Maverix is creating.”
The board is being assembled to offer Maverix clients supplemental guidance and insight when unique, more challenging market conditions arise. Baur’s expertise will also help the organization earn attention from industry personalities with similar experience who are in flexible consulting positions around the industry.
