ENRG said its agents will have access to medical, dental and vision insurance with no waiting period or annual enrollment window.

Brokerage upstart ENRG Realty is adding nationwide health insurance access for its agents, the cloud-based firm announced Monday, expanding its pitch to recruits beyond commission splits, technology and revenue-sharing opportunities.

ENRG said its agents will have access to medical, dental and vision insurance with no waiting period or annual enrollment window. The Seattle-based company said the coverage includes protection for pre-existing conditions and emphasized that the offering is traditional health insurance rather than a health care cost-sharing program.

“An agent can’t successfully build a business, grow a team or take care of clients if they’re worried about their own health first,” ENRG co-founder and President Erinn Nobel said in the news release. “We want our agents to have health insurance. Plain and simple.”

The offering addresses a persistent challenge for real estate agents, most of whom work as independent contractors and generally do not receive the employer-sponsored benefits available to traditional employees. In announcing the benefit, ENRG cited National Association of Realtors data indicating that 10 percent to 15 percent of NAR members have no health insurance.

The company also pointed to the cost and timing constraints agents can face when purchasing coverage on their own. Unlike many individual health plans that are tied to an annual enrollment period, ENRG said agents will be able to access its coverage without waiting for a yearly enrollment window.

For brokerages, benefits offer another potential recruiting and retention tool at a time when companies are competing for productive agents with increasingly elaborate combinations of commission plans, revenue sharing, equity and technology. Adding health coverage gives ENRG a way to differentiate its agent offering beyond the financial and technology incentives that have become common among cloud-based brokerages.

ENRG was launched in 2024 by husband-and-wife duo Peter and Erinn Nobel, who previously held leadership roles at eXp Realty and later served as executives at The Real Brokerage. The quickly expanding company offers agents an 85/15 commission split with a $15,000 annual cap, along with revenue sharing, equity awards and a suite of technology products.
