“As a woman-led brokerage, we bring fresh, inclusive perspectives and cutting-edge strategies to an often stagnant and tone-deaf industry,” Emily Duke said. “We believe that real estate is among the most human of businesses and attempts by large corporate entities to reduce our industry to conversion rates and stock prices is a misinformed way to approach markets.”
Building on a foundation of innovation and progressive values, Duke and her team seek to help clients “find not just homes, but meaningful lives” in her Denver market. To that end, every broker on the team receives personalized consulting to identify ways that they can positively impact their corner of the world.
Find out how this leader and her team are implementing “purpose-driven leadership” to deliver exceptional experiences tailored to their clients’ needs.

Why did you get into real estate?
I’ve always loved real estate — from touring open houses as a kid to watching how renovations transform spaces into expressions of personality and style. My background in psychology gave me a unique lens to understand people’s needs and motivations. When I realized how much potential there was to bring integrity and humanity to the industry, I began creating the business I wished already existed.
What do you wish more people knew about real estate?
Clients don’t have to be treated as collateral in a commission-driven industry. At LUX Denver ERA Powered, we lead with integrity, love and expertise. Every decision we make is rooted in what’s best for our clientele. By advocating for our clients and agents, putting their needs ahead of ours, the money and success naturally follow. To us, that’s what it means to be a professional real estate brokerage leading with integrity.
What’s something you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
I wish I’d known the importance of joining a values-aligned team. Many real estate recruiters prioritize meeting quotas over creating meaningful connections, which can lead to environments that don’t prioritize shared success. At LUX Denver ERA Powered, we intentionally seek out individuals who share our vision of collaboration and integrity, and it’s made all the difference.
Tell us about a high point in your career
Two years ago, I became the sole owner of LUX Denver ERA Powered. Taking the reins was a defining moment that reaffirmed my belief in the power of clarity of vision and aligned execution. It’s been incredible to watch our team, brand and community thrive as we step into the next iteration of our journey.
What’s your top tip for newly formed teams?
Teams can quickly become hierarchical and inequitable if not handled with love and care. Build a foundation of trust and open communication. Clearly define roles, empower everyone to contribute their strengths, and lead with integrity. Rising together as a team is far more powerful than succeeding at the expense of others. In the words of President John F. Kennedy, “A rising tide lifts all boats.”
