SERHANT. is entering Colorado with its largest group of agents to date, and most of them are coming from one place: Compass.
The AI-native brokerage is launching SERHANT. Colorado, bringing 11 founding agents and a broader roster that has closed more than $1 billion in sales over the past 12 months, according to the company. It’s the firm’s largest single-market entry by volume since its 2020 founding, following launches in Texas and California earlier this year.
The founding class includes agents from Compass, Real Broker, Valor Real Estate, LPT Realty and 8z Real Estate. Of the total roster joining the brokerage, 65 percent are coming from Compass International Holdings firms, and 60 percent are coming from the Compass brand specifically, according to SERHANT.

“We have 11 founders in Denver alone, and it’s our biggest market we’ve ever opened,” Ryan Serhant, founder and CEO of SERHANT. told Inman. “The majority of our founders and agents have come from Compass, and it’s super exciting.”
Serhant said he sets a threshold before entering any market: At least $1 billion in trailing 12-month sales from agents who come to the firm organically.
Serhant also pointed to competitive pressure inside larger brokerages as part of the draw to SERHANT.
Serhant said agents at brokerages with large, overlapping rosters can end up competing with their own colleagues for the same inventory, which leaves their value proposition resting on themselves individually.
“And at SERHANT., it’s not just why you — it’s why us,” he said.
He pointed to the brokerage’s Arizona expansion as a preview of what’s possible in Denver. Paulina Matteson, a founding agent when SERHANT. opened in Arizona about 14 months ago, sold the most expensive single-family home in state history for just over $40 million, Serhant said. The average SERHANT. agent grows their gross commission income (GCI) more than 140 percent in their first 12 months with the firm, according to the company.
Ferguson takes the helm
Rebecca Ferguson is leading SERHANT. Colorado as managing director. She most recently served as managing broker for Kentwood Real Estate’s Cherry Creek office, where her team ranked No. 1 in production and sides in Denver for its office size two years running, according to the company.
“I wanted to be at a company where agents and people really came first,” Ferguson told Inman. “I’m not leaning into this change in the industry — I’m leading it.”
Ferguson said the firm’s technology and media tools are meant to free up her time for coaching rather than managing administrative work.
“Now we’ve got agents who don’t really need to piecemeal together everything they need to grow a real estate business,” she said. “I can lean in, manage, advise, coach, and it frees the agents up to go do what they do best, which is work with their buyers and sellers and sell homes.”
When asked about Serhant’s past comments that the industry’s future could come down to Compass and SERHANT., Ferguson called it “a realistic possibility” and pointed to how the two brokerages grow.
“We’re growing organically. We’re growing based on leadership … we’re not growing position,” she said. “And I think that is a defining difference between the two companies.”
Ferguson described the culture she’s building in one word: Collaborative.
“These are top-producing agents, and they have so much to learn from one another,” she said.
Who’s joining the founding class
The founding class brings decades of Denver market experience. Jason Cummings, who co-leads the Cummings & Black Group, was Compass Denver’s No. 1 small team by sales volume for four consecutive years and closed more than $200 million in sales over the past 12 months, according to the company. David DiPetro, the No. 2 individual broker by volume at Compass Denver in 2025, focuses on the metro area’s luxury corridor, including Cherry Hills Village and Greenwood Village.
“This has already opened doors I never knew existed, and this is just the beginning,” DiPetro said in a statement.
Other founding agents include Jon Mottern, Clare Day and Tom Day, all from Compass; Katie McCaslin from Real Broker; Will Grimes and Eli Schmidt, who arrive from LPT Realty with a combined $600 million in career sales built partly through their “Living in Denver” relocation content; Dwayne Montoya and Levi Rose, who bring their independent brokerage, Valor Real Estate, to the firm; and Brett Reasoner, joining from 8z Real Estate.
Launching alongside Sell It ’26
SERHANT. Colorado will launch alongside Sell It ’26: Move Forward, the sales education conference Serhant founded, set for Sept. 24-25 at the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The two-day event includes keynotes from Serhant and Tony Hawk and closes with a private SERHANT. Colorado launch celebration at Meow Wolf Denver.
Serhant said Denver’s appeal extends beyond agent recruitment. Job growth driven by the aerospace, tech and quantum computing sectors factored into the decision, he said.
“If you can create jobs, if you can create deals, if you can create homes” — that, Serhant said, is what draws SERHANT. to a market.
