This week: Catch up on the drama coming out of Vegas Realtors, then hear from some of the real estate industry’s heaviest hitters on business building, branding and Clear Cooperation.

As both Rupaul and Spiderman’s Uncle Ben are fond of saying, “With great power comes great responsibility.” Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen a ton of bad behavior from folks in leadership at the National Association of Realtors and at individual brokerages.

At the same time, we’ve seen people in leadership put their best face forward, calling for change when needed and stepping up to take charge under challenging circumstances.

This week, the drama at Las Vegas Realtors continued to unfold, as the group’s former CEO clapped back against allegations of election tampering that eventually resulted in her termination.

Former Vegas Realtors CEO sues organization after election mishap

Following her January termination from her role as CEO of Las Vegas Realtors amid allegations of fraud, Wendy DiVecchio has filed suit against the organization, saying that she was improperly fired.

According to DiVecchio, the investigation and termination followed what she called a “disagreement” between herself and the LVR board over the relationship between LVR and the MLS it owns and controls.

The former CEO alleged her reputation was irreparably damaged after the board leaked details of the investigation in the media before it was concluded, according to the complaint.

Offering a positive vision for those you lead and speaking your mind on topics of the day are two of the ways that leaders can uplift, inspire and move teams forward in a positive direction. Among Inman’s contributors, there are many powerhouse players who regularly offer their insights and opinions.

Check out these three stories from the past week, and keep watching for op-eds, Q&As and all of the other ways we highlight what great leadership looks like.
