There’s so much to think about when you’re starting out in your business. From developing a business plan to developing a morning routine — not to mention motivating yourself to get up and grind every single day — there’s so much to learn.
Because it’s New Agent Month, we wanted to hear some of the words of wisdom that have meant the most to you over the years. What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received? Did the advice come from a real estate agent or from an entrepreneur friend or family member? Did you get the advice from a book, podcast or YouTube video, or did someone tell you their secret for success one-on-one?
Here’s what you said:
- Early to bed, early to rise, work like hell and advertise.
- I went to real estate licensing class when I was 22. Completely clueless. The instructor was a broker. He would say through the licensing course, “Boys and girls, you need to buy real estate, too, not just sell it.” Also, when I was taking out a home equity loan, a very successful investor told me to never touch my principal residence; that is for your family, not investing.
- Create a team.
- Hire people who are smarter than you are.
- Do not waste your time trying to do things that you are not cut out for; outsource those things instead.
- Just show up. How do you expect to do business if your business is closed?
