I live and work in Katy, TX and the West Houston area! As a Katy, TX Realtor and a Certified International Property Specialist, I love working with international buyers or sellers relocating to or from the Katy, Texas area as well as those looking to invest abroad.

As a former expat, I understand what my clients are going through and use my expertise and past experience to help them through their real estate transactions. As a proud member of FIABCI, The International Real Estate Federation, I am able to leverage my many international contacts to help locate foreign properties as well as market my clients' properties worldwide.

The green movement is starting to appear in our area, but Houston, TX is a place where we LOVE our cars and trucks and our traffic jams prove it. While I recycle what I can, conserve where feasible, it would be a bit disingenuous of me to market myself as a Green Realtor while driving my clients around town in my big Sequoia. Hello there fellow Pru agent, You made me laugh this morning as I was: feeding the dog, running a load of laundry, drinking my coffee, making my daily to-do while reviewing the items left undone from yesterday, scanning my email, thinking about a new blog subject, planning a new listing... well, you certainly get the picture. I have the same little voices in my head and that is what keeps me going. Not only do I think women are naturally suited for real estate, but it helps to be a little ADD, as well:). Thank you for putting a little humor and perspective in my life today. By May 2, 2008 - 5:22am

My issue with this is that we demean our profession by diminishing the duties that one can reasonably expect from a Realtor. Why is it that there are minimum standards for doctors and lawyers but not our profession? No wonder we are seen as little more than used car (house) salesmen. No wonder there are so many ethical issues presented due to lack of due diligence on behalf of practitioners. No wonder the words "fiduciary duties" mean so little to so many in our business. If we do not hold ourselves to a higher standard, why would anyone else? The issue we are really talking about is our service. What can a consumer expect, at a minmimum, from a Realtor? If an broker/agent wishes to negotiate away part, most or all of his/her income, that is his choice. But he should be held to the same standard as those who choose to charge a reasonable fee for services rendered on behalf of our clients - as our licensing board requires. If all a broker/agent does is little beyond MLS input and a few photos online, then that person is simply an administrator and not a Realtor - and should not be recognized as such.
