Gary does know his stuff. I have been watching his Gary V and Wine Library video blogs for several months and he comes up with some great ideas. Check out his stuff if you are looking for video ideas. He is also big on Twitter.

I think the one thing that we need is cut cost drastically and advertise sensibly. Housing rates have peaked and now we need affordable housing to drive the sector.
I have create a nice small video and posted it on youtube as part of my advertising drive. It cost every little and reaches a wide audience.
watch it here and see if I have done something that's really picking up http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=qupxV3kkwb8

Joel, great finally meeting you in person!
I live around the corner from the wine library and have been following Gary for a few years - ever since I saw him on wine library tv tearing apart a wine that he thinks is awful ( yes, wine that is in his own store!) He's developed such a following for his brutal honesty. He's absolutely the most brilliant marketer I've ever seen. He thinks we should do the same thing that he does as Realtors.
Picture this - I preview a new listing at a realtor open house, then make a video stating how overpriced it is and how ugly the wall paper is. I tweet it out on twitter, blog it on my blog, do a blast it to the 7,000 people in my email database, and add it to my facebook profile. Then 2 days later one of my buyers wants to see it anyway- Hmmm, What are the chances of that homeowner ever letting let me in the door? - not to mention its a great way to make enemies of every listing agent along the midtown direct trainline towns.
I think what makes Gary so entertaining is the fantasy factor of what he does. I mean, I'm pretty good at coming out and just saying what I think to my clients, and doing it publically makes for great entertainment ( like winelibrary TV) , but I can't imagine pulling off what he gets away with and keeping a great reputation in the real estate world.

Great video. I post on blogs, write blogs, do press releases, and other stuff all over the place. It really dose seem to catch customers from all over. One thing I don't have is a Twitter account. Is a Twitter account worth having? Any thoughts?

LOVED GaryVee's keynote at Inman. Sure,a lot of what he does isn't *directly* applicable to real estate. But it's past time to think outside the box, and adapt and apply what is.
Todd - is a Twitter account worth having? I've connected with a couple of hundred LOCAL, non-real estate people via Twitter. And met dozens of them in real life. Also reached hundreds of folks in the industry literally across the world.
Seems worth it to me...

I think social media is going to change real estate from here on out. I can just imagine having auctions on twitter or being a real estate agent and having 10,000 followers listening to everything you have to say about the real estate world or about your lifestyle or about different properties.
