Bob - Yeah, I know. What I actually said is that I can't be put in the position of verifying that everything I link to is compliant. Everything I publish is vetted and verified to the best of my ability, but everything I link to isn't. To be honest, I wasn't even remotely thinking about IDX when I was thinking about SOPA and PIPA. Also, I'm in Charlottesville, Virginia rather than Charlotte, NC as the article states. :) Jim Duncan 434-242-7140 http://www.realcentralva.com Realtor

On the face of it, Move's Mission and the NAR's Mission seem to be aligned: THE NAR: The core purpose of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® is to help its members become more profitable and successful. Move.com: "To connect real estate professionals with consumers in order to increase the number of home sales transactions." Who is Move's customer? The Broker? The ones providing the umbrella under which the agents can operate The agent? The ones generating the listings and content. The MLS? At some level, they are the conduit for the information rather than the content provider. The NAR? Their customers are the Realtors. The Brokers. The big brokers -v- small brokers. The consumer? The Consumer? Where do they fit in? They want all the data, for free, and so does Move. Shareholders? Brokers and agents are sometimes at odds with each other. MLS' often are competing with their members - public sites and the rest. The NAR is t Ultimately, I, and every other Realtor with an IDX site, am competing against Move. I would much rather have clients and potential buyer clients visit my local search site than Realtor.com. RDC (Realtor.com) has the potential and the resources to offer a more complete picture to the consumer - the lifestyle aggregate, or "can I live here and be happy" component than I do.
